It's true, and growing up we had a constant of three to four cats at any time. While I believe my parents are up to over six (or is it seven) cats, they're almost all rescues, strays, or rescued strays. After 18 years of cats, one day I adopted a dog of my own and shortly after uttered the phrase "I grew up with cats, but I like dogs, too."
For those of you who met Max during his too-short 15 years, you can attest to his stoic, gentle nature. From the time he was adopted on April 24, 2004 at 10-months to the time he passed peacefully in December 2018, he left an impression on everyone he met (along with ample dog hair), never met a cookie his didn't like, and let his opinion be known. Effortlessly, he made me a better person by simply being in my life and showed me how short 15 years feels when he passed away.
On February 20, 2019, two-and-a-half months after Max passed, a lanky, energetic pup named Tucker "followed me home from work." Just over one-year old, Tucker loves to run, play, and cuddle in equal parts. He's a handful, for sure, but is a daily reminder to play hard, nap often, and never pass up the chance to go outside on a beautiful day. Regardless of what he has planned, Tucker will always make time for me.
The Furry Scurry is a great Denver tradition that brings animal lovers together for a fun walk with a very important purpose: helping the Dumb Friends League care for thousands of lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets and horses, and giving them a second chance at happiness in a forever home.
I hope you'll support my efforts to help homeless pets and horses at the Dumb Friends League by sponsoring me in the 26th annual Furry Scurry.
If animals have brought you as much joy as they've given me, this is your opportunity to show some love to homeless pets and horses and change their lives, and the lives of their forever-families, for the better.
Thank you so much for helping me make a difference to homeless pets and horses. I appreciate your support!
