Critter Careers Camp
Kids entering sixth, seventh and eighth grades can come to either our shelters to explore careers in animal welfare. The Critter Careers Camp session runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a graduation on the final day of camp from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for campers and their families. Registration is required. Campers may enroll in one of the following sessions:
Session A: July 26-29 FULL
Session B: August 2-5 FULL Session C: August 9-12 - FULL
Campers will discover the many career and volunteer opportunities available in animal welfare. Through interactive, hands-on activities, campers will experience what it is like to be an animal welfare investigator, a veterinarian, an animal behavior counselor and more. While assuming these roles, kids will also learn compassion, respect and responsibility.
Critter Careers Camp will be held indoors and outdoors at either our Quebec Street shelter, located at 2080 S. Quebec St. in Denver, or our Buddy Center, located at 4556 N. Castleton Court in Castle Rock.
Camp costs $200 for the four day session. This includes all of the activities. (*Due to preparation and staffing costs, all camp fees are non-refundable.) To request an application for financial aid, please call (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7231.
Enrollment is limited to 14 campers per session and spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
When a spot is reserved for your child, you will receive a confirmation letter with all the information you need, including dates, times and directions to the shelter.
