Paint and Pets Workshop @ LAM 4.23.22
Leslie A. Malone Center

What is our Paint and Pets Workshop?

It is an opportunity for 8 – 11 year olds to flex their creative muscle and support the amazing world of shelter pets. Experienced and enthusiastic staff will give your child 90 minutes of artistic service learning through an educational lesson, tour, painting, and maybe even a visit with a furry friend!

The artwork completed will be kept by the Dumb Friends League and given to the animals' adoptive family; your child won't leave empty-handed, though! They will get to take home some Dumb Friends League swag!

Please note that this is not a "learn to paint" program.

What should my child bring?

All materials provided.  Please bring your child's completed and signed waiver with you at drop off, as this is required for participation.  Parents or guardians must sign participants in and out each session.

Do you allow for early drop-off or late pick up?

Sorry, we cannot accommodate early drop-off or late pick up. Late pick-ups after 12:40pm will be charged $1/minute.

Why do I need to sign a media waiver?

We might take pictures throughout the event to use in various Dumb Friends League media publications. A media waiver is not required for participation, however your child may need to sit out of certain group pictures if you choose not to complete one.

Why does volunteering cost money?

Your registration fee enables us to cover the cost of staffing, supplies, insurance, and materials used during the program, allowing more resources and donated dollars to be utilized for the homeless pets in our care.

Can I transfer my program date or get a refund if I can't attend my scheduled date?

Unfortunately, due to limited staffing and resources, all registrations are final and we are not able to offer refunds or transfer program dates.

What other details do I need to know?

Registrations and waivers are required for participation. While we try our best to work with every animal lover, we may not be able to accommodate children with severe animal allergies or special needs. In these cases, please contact us before registering to discuss.

We are working hard to ensure every participant's safety and have implemented strict requirements in order to do so. Please review the following COVID protocols before attending the program:

Masks are required
Increased hand-washing practices are required
If, on the day of the program, your child or anyone residing in the same household feels ill, has a fever, or any cold/flu sypmtoms do not attend the program.

Please email Lauren Pipis at to let us know your child will not be attending.

Please register each child individually, in separate transactions.  Due to limited staffing and resources, all registrations are final.
