What is Junior Volunteer Day? Junior Volunteer Day is an opportunity for 12-15 year olds to gain hands on experience volunteering at the Dumb Friends League. This is a great introduction to future volunteer opportunities and is a wonderful way to work towards a community service goal or simply just to help the homeless pets in our care. Students will work alongside staff as they tend to some of the daily care of the animals as well as complete other service projects to benefit the animals. What should my child bring? Please bring your completed and signed waiver with you at drop off, as this is required for participation in Junior Volunteer Day. Students must wear closed toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing, as some activities might be held outside. Parents or guardians must sign students in and out each session. Do you allow for early drop-off or late pick up? Sorry, we cannot accommodate early drop-off or late pick up. Late pick-ups after 11:10 a.m. will be charged $1/minute. Why do I need to sign a media waiver? We might take pictures throughout the event to use in various Dumb Friends League media publications. A media waiver is not required for participation, however your child may need to sit out of certain group pictures if you choose not to complete one. Why does volunteering cost money? Your registration fee enables us to cover the cost of staffing, supplies, insurance, and materials used in Junior Volunteer Day, allowing more resources and donated dollars to be utilized for the homeless pets in our care. What other details do I need to know? Registrations and waivers are required for participation in Junior Volunteer Day. While we try our best to work with every animal lover, we may not be able to accommodate children with severe animal allergies or special needs. In these cases, please contact us before registering to discuss. We are working hard to ensure every participant's safety and have implemented strict requirements in order to do so. Please review the following COVID protocols before attending the Junior Volunteer Day program: Masks are required Can I transfer my program date or get a refund if I can't attend my scheduled date? Please register each child individually, in separate transactions. Due to staffing and resources, all registrations are final. Date:
